Rototom 2010 in Spain

Good news: finally, after months of research, we are about to confirm the new location and the dates for Sunsplash 2010. In a while we will give the official announcement!
Our new website is ready and it will be soon online together with the announcement of the 2010 edition of the festival. Please note that from Monday, the forum will be closed, until we have performed its migration on the new website.

Happy birthday Bob!

Today we celebrate Bob Marley's 65th anniversary.
Thanks to him millions of people from all over the world have discovered reggae music and have found a simple and straight-forward artist, an untiring spokesman for all those who had no voice and who fought for their rights. Bob Marley was a rebel, a deeply spiritual man and an endowed musician of dazzling talent, a man who deeply loved life and a symbol for his people. He still is. Also for us.

"Don't put Bob Marley on trial" @ Leoncavallo

We would like to thank the Sottotetto and Livello 57 crew for their warm welcome and all the ones who took part in the marvellous events in Bologna last Saturday. Next stop for our "Don’t put Bob Marley on trial!" will be Milano on Friday, February 12th. A debate on the art.79 Fini/Giovanardi law will be held at 9:30pm and the Reggae Nite  will continue with plenty of our beloved soundsystems and DJs. All of this will take place in the memorable Leoncavallo, in via Watteau 7, thanks to the sensitivity and the effort of Leo collective and of Hustler 79ers. See you in Milano!!!

Rototom supports Primomarzo 2010 and the "white" strike

Rototom Sunsplash has always always stood up against all forms of hatred and racism. We therefore support the group Primomarzo 2010 which has called in a strike in favour of immigrants on March the 1st. Moreover we are willing to seize the opportunity suggested by PeaceReporter and make a donation on that same day.

In solidarity with Rototom

It is still very difficult not to have a reaction of strong disbelief and uncertainty towards the investigation that Rototom is being faced with in Italy and that is causing our Spanish “exile”. This investigation is soiling the whole reggae culture and it involves to a certain extent all the ones that promote this music and have chosen its values as centrepiece of their lifestyles. We have the pleasure to invite all of you to partecipate to “Don’t put Bob Marley on trial” in Bologna at Sottotetto Sound Club on Saturday, January 30th. The purpose of the evening is to say ‘no’ to this logic, to support Sunsplash and to dance all together to the music of Bunna & Vale and of all the many other selecters of  the Bologna massive. Alessandro Oria, spokesman for our festival, will be taking part in the evening.
