Max Romeo

With his distinctive voice and fiery protest lyrics, Max Romeo is one of the greatest living reggae singers. He first had success in the days of rocksteady as part of the group The Emotions, before scoring a 1968 massive hit in England for Bunny Lee with the suggestive Wet Dream. But it is his work with Lee Scratch Perry that cemented his legacy via the 1976’s War In A Babylon album, distributed by Island Records. Today Max is still singing Rasta and protest lyrics, and has passed his legacy onto his children, Ronaldo, Romario and Xana. He remains one of reggae’s most compelling live performers.
