At the end, there’s not a lot else to do. Faced with the growing criminalisation of the event, that has reached the level of prosecuting the Rototom president, presumed “guilty of facilitating the use of marijuana” because the “reggae culture” encourages people to smoke, it has seemed the most logical thing to do – take the  festival elsewhere. This in order to avoid further embarrassment to the Osoppo Council authority and to guarantee the future festival participants that the event will take place with the usual harmony.

We are going away, but we promise this; we will battle on to make sure that what has happened to us will not happen to others. A team of lawyers will help us prove the illogical nature of the charges in the courts, and we will set up a series of activities to inform the public about the problem, ranging from the “io agevolo/ I facilitate” promoted on this site, to a petition on the www.fuoriluogo.it, site, to a demonstration-concert, on Friday 13th November, in Piazza Matteotti in Udine, which will have the emblematic title of “Don’t Put Bob Marley on Trial”.
