Benicàssim is a seaside resort on the Mediterranean sea coast, just a few km north of Castellón. Located in the heart of the Plana Alta territory, it extends to reach the foothills of the Desert de las Palmes and of  Agujas de Santa Águeda. The highest mountain is Bartolo, its peak reaches 729 metres of altitude, granting a marvellous view over the coastline and on the inner landscape.

Benicàssim enjoys a mediterranean climate of mild winters and summer temperatures ranging around 25ºC.

Benicàssim’s geography is marked by 3 zones:

• The  Las Villas zone, with its numerous summer residencies dating back to the XIX century, has a large offer of holiday housing and touristic services: hotels, a hostel, restaurants, camping sites, discos, bars and cafès.
• La coastal zone counts 5 beaches: Voramar, Almadraba, San Vicente, Els Terrers e Heliópolis. All  of them have sugar fine white sand, entertainment, cleaners and surveillance during the summer. They are all assigned Blue Flag beaches.
• The Desert de las Palmes has been designated as Natural Reserve. It’s the part of the Serralada de les Palmes  where Carmelite friars once built a monastery, where a wide variety of herbs and plants are still being cultivated. The desert slopes form a large oval that protects the outskirts of Benicássim and ventures on towards the peak of mount Bartolo. The proximity to the coast makes it a privileged panoramic viewpoint to admire the inside of Castellón    province and the wide Valencia gulf and even to spot the Columbretes islands.
