Human and social commitment accompanied Rototom since the beginning. This event, not only musical has become over the years an authentic "cultural laboratory", able to care about to care about the deep worldwide movements connected to civil rights, peace culture, anti-racism and sustainability; and to collect this "thirst to knowledge" and ideas which came out with the youth who gathered at the debates tent. This place for thoughts and activism needs now more strenght, while Europe is facing intense change, with big economic and social crisis; the loss of social rights and state sovereignty; mass migrations which tent to spread hatred and xenophoby.
In front of these changes Rototom Social Forums takes place, a renewed space for thoughts and debates, a real breeding ground of minds and projects, an authentic community of committed people to the world. Summer of hope: beyond the crisis, our aim is to give a contribution to this collective enterpise in order to get back our hope for a more free and fairar future.
This new Social Forum will be gathering intellectuals, activists, artists, journalists and scientists coming from every single part of the world. These special guests won't be just moderators or speakers, but they will live "Rototom" and "at Rototom". They will get to know a community that keeps changing, transforming and evolving with its ideas.. about this "other world possible".
This movement will be there at Sunsplash meetings, debates and cultural activities.
