Press conference in Benicassim

Friday 12th of October at 12am a Rototom Sunsplash press conference will be held, at the Bonaire Hotel in Benicassim. On this occasion the information about the 2010 Festival's economy will be presented and there will be important news, among which the dates of the next edition.

After the UK Festival Awards, Rototom Sunsplash aims to the Europe Festival Awards 2010, in the category "Best Medium size Festival". You can help us to win the selection registering and voting to this link: http://eu.festivalawards.com/

The first part of the voting will end the next 23rd of November and the most voted events of each category will be announced the 24th, when the second part of the voting will begin in order to decide the winners.

Gregory Isaacs: R.I.P.

Jamaican reggae legend Gregory Isaacs died at his London house after a battle with lung cancer. He was 59 years old. According to BBC Caribbean, the Cool Ruler passed away peacefully, "surrounded by three of his eleven children and his wife Linda Isaacs".

Rototom Sunsplash won the Greener Festival Award 2010

greener-festivalRototom Sunsplash has been chosen for the second tıme by the jury of the Greener Festival Award as one of the greenest and sustainable festivals in Europe. The awarded festivals are the ones that put effort the most - with the audience - for the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions, especially as it regards the transports. Other elements which count in the evaluation are recycling, the reduction of rubbish, water wastes, acoustic pollution and environmental impact.
