The Rototom Reggae Contest is a cultura inclusive project. Through the website www.reggaecontestlatino.com it pretends to give visibility to every actor in the Latin Reggae community, starting at Argentina and Uruguay. Each one of these actors: musicians, producers, specialized diffusion media, artisans, stores, discos, clubs, discographic labels, musical promoters can create an individual website actualized periodically with their own cultural production. The Portal will be a gathering point of every form of expression related to the reggae values.

Venerdì 15 ottobre 2010 prenderà il via ufficialmente il primo Rototom Reggae Contest del Laitinoamerica, che in questa prima edizione coinvolgerà Argentina e Uruguay.
La presentazione avrà luogo al "Lo de Garone", a Vicente Lopez (República Argentina) a partire dalle 22:00. Per l'occasione saranno presenti rappresentanti dei media locali e artisti, tra cui alcuni membri della band giamaicana The Abysinians e il cantante Alborosie.

I tre gruppi selezionati per partecipare alla finale europea del Reggae Contest 2010, in programma oggi alle 19.30 sul Main Stage, sono STEPACIDE (Portogallo), ARAWAK (Italia) e INTINN (Irlanda).

We can finally announce the complete line-up of contenders for the finals of European Reggae Contest 2010! The 12 winning bands from the various national contests will take part in the first preliminary round scheduled for Wednesday 25th August to 1800 on the Lion Stage. After the vote from the jury the best three bands will remain in the race and will perform again on the Main Stage on Thursday 26th August:

After 20 days of online voting by the audience plus those from the techincal evaluation by the 75 jurors, we can finally announce the results of this first part of the contest. Please note that the jury for UK and Ireland is still at work. The classification will be published asap.

5 bands have already been admitted to the European finals at Rototom Sunsplash, winners of five national/regional selections: ABDOU DAY from France, RAS DASHAN from Germany, STEPACIDE from Portugal, DANIEL ASHER & JCB from Sweden for Northern Europe, MALEO REGGAE ROCKERS from Poland for the rest of Europe.
