DUB STATION Adrian Sherwood has brought an air of innovation into the world of dub, looking to the future while remaining anchored at the same time to the genuineness of the Jamaican tradition of artists like King Tubby or Lee Perry, whose works he studied with passion. In the early eighties, the visionary productions of his legendary label On-U-Sounds were dated on their covers as if they had been released ten years later and even today, they radiate an extraordinary modernity when listened.
In 2011, Adrian celebrates thirty years of activity of a brand which has managed to offer us, among many other proposals, Bim Sherman’s voice, the deep bass of the Dub Syndicate, the psychodelic Africa of African Head Charge and the abrasiveness of Mark Stewart & Maffia or Tackhead. For his session at the Dub Station, Adrian will be accompanied by the vocalist Ghetto Priest.
