Reggae pioneers in Spain and in Spanish, Jah Macetas have been active since 1982, always faithful to their roots style “without additives”. This Valencian band, led by the musician and producer Sergio Monleón and the singer Pere Andrés (the Rumbero Jamaicano), gets together again after a separation period to record a new album, to be presented at the Main Stage.
Jah Macetas has had different formations during its career, which have always consisted of high level musicians, often from well-known Spanish and international bands from other styles, which saw in this band an opportunity to delve into new rythms. Their first album has the foreboading title “Una semilla” (“A seed”) (1986) but it was the second one “Toda una vida” (1989) with which they reached their maximum level of popularity, getting to be played on generalist radios and televisions.
