The recently assassination of 76 young Norwegians carried out by the right-extremist Anders Breivik has highlighted, as the president of the Movimiento Contra La Intolerancia Esteban Ibarra stated, that the hatred against the different of the neonazi and neofascist movements doesn't make any distinction among a person of a certain colour, a muslim, a socialdemocratic, a punk or a defender of human rights. "Breivik is not crazy, he a sociopath who committed a hatred crime", he added.
A thought developed yesterday by Esteban Ibarra, during the round-table of the Social Forum entitled "The seed of hatred is spreading throughout Europe" Who'll stop this plague?", to which also the writer and journalist Joan Cantanero participated, with the musician and activist Miquel Ramos, to face the topic of racism in Europe and in particular in Spain. The president of the Movimiento Contra La Intolerancia wanted to make clear the hatred episodes we can notice more and more are not a "Urban tribe" issue, as sometimes they want you to believe; it is instead a new right extremism, consisting on neonazi and neofascist organizations. At the same time he made clear these movements are partly manifested through very violent elements that carry out real attempts, while on the other hand they organize in political parties that are gaining ground in the European institutions and in National and local governments.
Joan Cantanero, from his cotner, has also stated these kind of ideologies settle down in the people who believe the fault of the evil of the people is due to the immigrants and he showed convinced about the fact racism can be fought travelling, living together with other cultures and getting information.
"We have to stay united because racism is an evil that threatens everybody" made sure Ibarra, convincing people to a personal mobilization. Besides he defined a change of the legislation concerning the hatred and xenophobia crimes of vital importance; we need to offer a concrete aid to the victims of these crimes and not to give up the fight in favour of the banishing and persecution of the neonazi and racist parties.
