Yesterday at 14:00 at the "Media Area" the photography workshop held by Lorenzo Scaldaferro, a Phocus Agency artist (www.phocusagency.com), officially starts. Nikon Italia has taken part to the prestigious workshop (www.nital.it). Lorenzo Scaldaferro, professional photographer, is famous for his pictures on culture and shows.
He has frequently taken part in the making of business images and is in charge of workshops with autistic children. He has willingly accepted Luca D'Agostino's invitation, a friend and a workmate who's responsible for the Rototom photographers crew, to direct this workshop. Thirteen students coming from Italy, Spain and Venezuela have chosen to follow Scaldaferro's advice. Besides the morning meetings on theory, taking place from 14:00 to 17:00, in the evening the photographers will get a chance to put into practice everything they have learned, at the Lion Stage and Main Stage. "In this workshop we will learn the basic principles to remember when taking pictures of a stage – states Scaldaferro. We will also deal with photographic coverage and study more in details the post-production phase with Photoshop." According to Lorenzo, a good photographer should be invisible during coverage. "We should keep a low profile – claims Lorenzo – we shouldn't get in between the artist and the audience. The photographer is an ideal observer, he sees things others don't see. Before taking a picture he has to focus, even though being quick is also of the utmost importance. He finally needs to keep a perfect balance." Now it's time to get down to business. Our best wishes to the guys at the workshop. We'll be waiting for your pictures!
