Un sistema monetario alternativo: la moneta sociale

moneda-rototomAll’interno del progetto di uscita dal capitalismo proposto dalla Cooperativa Integral Catalana, della quale abbiamo parlato ieri, ricordiamo l’iniziativa di adozione della moneta sociale che Enric Durán ha illustrato oggi nell’area conferenze del Rototom Sunsplash.

La moneta è fondamentale per creare un sistema di scambio all’interno dei progetti sociali, soprattutto per sfuggire dal modo in cui viene prodotto il denaro. Le banche sono incaricate di fabbricare tutta la valuta circolante nell’economia, attraverso il debito contratto dagli utenti, come ci spiegava oggi Enric. Questo significa che enti fuori dal controllo democratico delle società occidentali utilizzano il meccanismo del debito per manipolare l’economia.

Realizzare un sistema bancario sociale e alternativo non è tanto complicato come ci fanno credere i centri del potere. I concetti che stanno alla base sono facilmente comprensibili e le problematiche facili da risolvere. Qualcosa che cercano di nascondere ai nostri occhi con l’utilizzo di tecnicismi o di complessità artificiali create dalle scienze economiche, come talvolta accade in altre discipline e come avviene ad esempio nel Diritto.

Dopo aver valutato i sistemi di moneta sociale che già esistono in Europa, le diverse reti che si sono sviluppate in Catalogna hanno optato per formarne uno proprio, sintesi delle migliori caratteristiche di ognuno. Da un lato, lo stimolo dell’economia locale in aggiunta agli scambi di beni e servizi tra vicini e, dall’altro, la creazione di meccanismi di scambio di moneta sociale con moneta reale (euro).
