It's time to to announce some big news regarding Ska Club: the artistic park of this particular space, dedicated to the "historic" sounds of Jamaican music, has the privilege to host the legendary Jamaican vocalist Dave Barker, the Italian trombone-player Gigi "T-Bone" De Gaspari, and the German Yellow Umbrella. The ones familiar with reggae history should already know Dave Barker, at least from his mega-hit from 1971 "Double barrel", accompanied by the keyborder Ansel Collins,if not for his numerous singles recorded for Lee Perry.
Mr. T-Bone is one of the best European musicians when it comes to reread with mastery the teaching of ska, rocksteady and early reggae greats: apart from having played for years with New York Ska Jazz Ensemble, Gigi released great CD's like "Mr.T.Bone sees America" or "Heroes". Mr. T-Bone will have the Spanish Sensi Simon & The Golden Singles Band as his backing band. Yellow Umbrella come from Dresda and are famous for knowing how to skillfully mix ska with "Gypsy" sounds from Eastern European countries: since 1996 they have realeased as many as 7 CDs.
