After the concerts confirmed for Tuesday night, Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th August in the Ska Club tent – see programming-, it will be the turn of sound system Trojan Sound, to animate festivities with a selection that includes a good chunk of "hits" which made British label Trojan famous in its golden age – see Ken Boothe, Dennis Brown or John Holt-, of the late sixties and early seventies.

Ska Club: Dr. Jau & The Peanut Vendors, The Gramophone Allstars
Dr. Jau & The Peanut Vendors is an "allstar" project conducted by musician and producer from Alicante Dr. Jau, created in parallel to the Golden Singles Records. A mixture of Jamaican sounds together blending the classic sound of Ska 1960s and Ska-Jazz of the 90's with Reggae, Soul, Dub, Rocksteady, etc. They will perform in the Ska Club on Tuesday 24th August.
Ska Club: Mr. T-Bone, Dave Barker, Yellow Umbrella
It's time to to announce some big news regarding Ska Club: the artistic park of this particular space, dedicated to the "historic" sounds of Jamaican music, has the privilege to host the legendary Jamaican vocalist Dave Barker, the Italian trombone-player Gigi "T-Bone" De Gaspari, and the German Yellow Umbrella. The ones familiar with reggae history should already know Dave Barker, at least from his mega-hit from 1971 "Double barrel", accompanied by the keyborder Ansel Collins,if not for his numerous singles recorded for Lee Perry.
Ska Club: new confirmations
The first guests on the Ska Club Stage have been confirmed, whilst representing the vitality of the Spanish scene they are dedicated to the foundation of Jamaican rhythm. The Thorpedians and The Cabrians are from Barcelona, along with La Familia Torelli from Lleida which is also part of Catalogna. Together with the Madrid based band The Upsttemians, Smooth Beans from Cantabria and The Bandits from Castellon who will visit their neighbourhood and enjoy the support of the local public.

For the very first time Rototom Sunsplash has decided to dedicate an entire area to the fundamentals of Jamaican music, namely Ska, Rocksteady, Bluebeat and Early Reggae. The area will be called Ska Club and will be just like a regular club with daily shows by the best bands playing these music genres. Mr ROY ELLIS, from the legendary Symarip of Skinhead Moonstomp has already confirmed his presence and many Spanish bands have also been contacted. More nice surprises coming soon!
