The first confirmed artist for the Lion stage is the Afro-Argentine Fidel Nadal (descendant of a family of slaves from Angola). At the end of the 1980s he was the founding member of the punk-reggae band Todos Tus Muertos, following the split of reggae band Lumumba. Influenced by classic 'conscious' roots but also Jamaican dancehall since 2000 when he began his prolific solo career, demonstrated by his eighteen albums.
In 1994, he also worked with Mano Negra on 'Casa Babylon' and 'Tiempos de Reggae' hosted by the legendary Jamaican toaster Mikey Dread. He is undoubtedly one of South America's biggest reggae artists, reaching the pinnacle of his career in 1988 with his album 'International love'.
