Arezzo Wave Italia Foundation (FAWI) encourages everyone to be in Udine on Friday, November 13th 2009 for the demonstration “Don’t put Bob Marley on trial!” that will take place in Piazza Matteotti and Piazza Leonello between 6pm and midnight.

Fawi and Italia Wave Love Festival express their solidarity to the Rototom Sunsplash organisers and their president Filippo Giunta, who have received from local Prosecutors a formal accusation of “facilitation of drug use”. The provided explanation is that Rototom Sunsplash is a reggae festival and that “Rastafarian ideology prefigures the relationship between reggae music and marijuana”.
Mauro Valenti, president of FAWI, sends his words of solidarity: “Rototom Sunsplash is like a twin brother to Italia Wave, our music genres may be different, but we share the same values. It would be very sad for us to hear that the festival is truly forced to leave Italy. We stand by your side, more than ever before!”
