Subsonica

subsonicaThose who want to put music on trial, those who want to ban a music festival by assuming that it is guilty of facilitating drug use, should consider banning other things.

For example all clubs for VIPs, showgirls, soccer players and wannabes, most football stadiums, and lastly the Parliament itself, which seems to have a stronger connection to cocaine nowadays than Bob Marley has ever had to marijuana.
Good music only sets people free. Free from stereotypes, free to try, make a choice and move on. This is what good music can do and Rototom Sunsplash has always hosted the best talents of the world’s music scene.
Do you really want to turn off the music and maybe even leave us home to watch shows where winners hand out  allusions to their vicious behaviours? Do you really want to do this in a country, Italy, where the losers - such as Stefano Cucchi - die under a cloud of suspicion and at the same time a Member of Parliament of some sort labels the poor guy as an addict who was gambling with his own life?
Music gave us future and freedom. We are sure that it is within the crowd standing offstage today that one can find many of the ones who will grow up to make a difference, who will ever get involved in great challenges, the brave and open-hearted of tomorrow who will be able to make the most of their own skills in every possible field. You will certainly not find them at home watching  the pitiful display of characters one can invent nowadays in order to obtain the slightest leftover of celebrity. This is the insane mentality that you sell us every day, these are your teachings, this is your idea of right and wrong.
Music only makes up for your mistakes, instead.
So be careful when you blame others, you might sound foolish.
